Gaming Regulator Seeks More Government Support to Strengthen Oversight

Uganda’s gaming regulator is calling for increased government support to strengthen oversight of the rapidly growing gaming sector as it launches a new five-year strategic plan.

The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board says additional staffing, improved funding, and legal reforms will be critical to achieving its objectives.

Chief Executive Officer Denis Ngabirano noted that the expansion of gaming across the country has increased the need for more personnel, enhanced funding, and better enforcement tools.

Launching the Board’s Strategic Plan, Client Charter and Service Delivery Standards, Finance Minister Henry Musasizi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a well-regulated and technology-driven gaming industry
