Semakadde Sued over Insults Directed at DPP

ULS president Isaac Ssemakadde has been  sued over indecently assaulting the DPP; Jane Frances Abodo.

Ssemakadde has been dragged before the Buganda Road court  by fellow lawyers ; Tonny Tumukunde and  Byamazima Josua who have filed  a complaint by way of  private prosecution .

The two advocates have now  asked chief magistrate Ronald Kayizzi to hear them out and draw up a charge sheet in respect of  Ssemakadde invading the privacy and  insulting the modesty  of a woman.

The lawyers further contend that all citizens  and all members of the Uganda Law Society  have a civic duty of upholding the privacy and dignity of  women .

The lawyers are particularly aggrieved with the 18th/ November utterances of their leader who was meeting the recently jailed and released PPF members  at their offices on  Katonga Road  where Ssemakadde  referred to the DPP as a ” Vagina and a pumpkin from Karamoja .

Tumukunde and Byamazima state in their complaint that the utterances by Ssemakadde were widely publicised on social media but  no known prosecuting agency has  come forward to take up the matter yet the Constitution mandates that  Anyone who breaks the law must be brought to book.

Cheif magistrate Ronald Kayizzi will hear the two lawyers’ complaint on Wednesday.
