Singer Dax Vybes, real name Ivan Bugembe Ssentamu, has called on fellow artist and music icon Bebe Cool, real name Moses Ssali, to fulfill a pledge made last year.
Dax Vybes alleges that Bebe Cool promised to award a house to the best musician featured on his annual Bebe Cool List.
The list ranks top-performing artists in Uganda’s music industry, and Dax Vybes was named the best artist in 2023.
However, he claims the promise of a house has not yet been honored.
“I still want to receive my house from Bebe Cool. He made a promise to award a house to the best musician on his list, and I topped it last year,” Dax Vybes said during a recent interview.
The Bebe Cool List has long been a subject of public debate, with both praise and criticism over its rankings and perceived biases.
Last year’s inclusion of a house as a reward drew significant attention, adding to the stakes for those named on the list.
Bebe Cool has yet to respond to Dax Vybes’ statement, sparking speculation among fans and observers.
The demand has ignited discussions in the music industry, with some supporting Dax Vybes’ call for accountability and others defending Bebe Cool, suggesting potential delays or misunderstandings.
Dax Vybes, an emerging artist with several hit songs to his name, emphasized the importance of keeping promises in building trust and integrity within the industry.
Fans now await a response from Bebe Cool to address the allegations.
