Bugweri LC5 Chairperson Remanded For Obtaining Money by False Pretense

The Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded  Bugweri District LC5 Chairperson Kimarka Hamidu alongside a Land broker  Chris Olego on  charges of obtaining money by false pretence to a tune of  over 3  billion shillings. 
 
Kimarka and Olengo have been in prison since last month but today expressed their readiness to apply for bail before  Nakawa Chief Magistrate Esther Nyandoi.
 
  Prosecution alleges that the Kimarka ,  Olengo and others   still at large  during the year 2025 at Nanjing Hotel along Lugogo by-pass in Nakawa Division, they two  obtained money totalling to 592.2 million shillings and 679,800 from Jiang Cailian; a   Sales Manager Grace Textiles International Investments Limited, Comform Uganda Limited and Nice Textiles Uganda Limited.
 
 According to the charge sheet, the accused persons pretended that they were going to help them secure a tender to supply bedsheets, blankets and mattresses  to World Vision Uganda whereas not. 
 
The prosecution  has asked court for an adjournment, saying the Police file containing details of the on-going investigations had not been brought to court. 
 
The case has now been adjourned to the 23rd/ September as investigations continue
