MPs Move Censure Motion Against Backbench Commissioners of Parliament

Mps moving the censure motion against the 4 backbench commissioners of parliament have formally filed the motion with the clerk to parliament.

The MPs have garnered with a total of 189 signatures from colleagues who are in agreement with the motion.

The clerk to parliament Adolf Mwesigye is now mandated to notify the speaker of the petition within 24 hours.

The embattled 4 backbench commissioners of parliament include Esther AfoyoChan , Mathias Mpuuga the former Leader of the opposition in parliament, Prossy Akampulira and Solomon Silwanyi. They are accused of irregularly taking a services award of 1.7 billions shillings which a section of mps contest and are demanding for their resignation

MP Theodore Ssekikubo has revealed that the speaker has no option now other than convening a sitting to debate the motion

Ariga south mp Allioni Yorke Odria has rallied Ugandans to now task their MPs to keep within parliamentary premises and ensure participation in the debate about this matter because some MPs have already hinted on distancing themselves from the debate
