Archbishop Kazimba Demands Action against Environment Degradation

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda His Grace Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has expressed deep concern about environmental degradation and its impact on Uganda.

While delivering his Easter message at St Paul  cathedral  Namirembe Kampala, Kaziimba emphasized the importance of preserving the environment for future generations, highlighting the need for collective action to address environmental challenges.

Archbishop Kaziimba stressed the importance of responsible environmental stewardship, citing biblical teachings that emphasize caring for God’s creation.

He acknowledges the reality of climate change and its far-reaching consequences, including extreme weather events and loss of biodiversity. He called for collective action to address environmental challenges, emphasizing the need for individuals, communities, and governments to work together to protect the environment.

Kaziimba’s concerns about environmental degradation reflect the Church of Uganda commitment to promoting sustainable development and protecting the well-being of Ugandans.

Kaziimba encouraged citizens to take action to preserve the natural beauty and resources of Uganda for future generations.

The Archbishop also expressed strong dissatisfaction over corruption in Uganda.

In his Easter message he highlighted the destructive nature of corruption, stating that it hinders development, deprives citizens of proper service delivery, and kills hope.

He prayed for the Lord to set free those trapped in corruption, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency.

He has also spoken out against its social and moral implications, urging citizens to work towards creating a more just and equitable society.

Additionally, he has called for the release of youths arrested for protesting against corruption, demonstrating his commitment to promoting justice and accountability in governance.
