Catherine Kusasira Opens up About Health Struggles, Upcoming Concert

Renowned singer Catherine Kusasira has bravely opened up about her recent health struggles, including a period of illness that took her to the United States for medical treatment.

In an interview on local TV, Kusasira revealed that while she received treatment and eventually felt much better, some doubted the seriousness of her condition.

“I was sick, and when I got to the hospital, I was treated and felt much better, but I didn’t really need any money like people said,” Kusasira shared, reflecting on the public’s skepticism regarding her health.

The singer also recalled a troubling experience on stage, where she felt unable to breathe or speak clearly.

“When I grabbed the microphone, I felt like I couldn’t breathe, and the words wouldn’t come out,” she said.

She explained that she later sought medical advice at Mulago Hospital, where doctors discovered that her veins were blocked.

Despite the health challenges, Kusasira expressed deep gratitude for her support system, particularly her husband, who she described as both her partner and best friend.

“I am so grateful for the kids. I’m incredibly proud of them, and I’m glad they are under God’s foundation. I’m very close to them,” she added.

In response to public comments about her appearance, Kusasira stated, “I don’t mind my size, and I’m perfectly healthy. My body is just fine.”

She also addressed the criticism she has faced.

“Sometimes you look at people who insult others and wonder why they are wasting their time,”she noted.

Looking ahead, Kusasira is gearing up for her much-anticipated concert, “The Roots of Catherine Kusasira,” which will take place on January 10, 2025, at Sheraton Kampala Gardens.

She expressed excitement about the event, affirming that she is ready to deliver a spectacular show that will leave a lasting impression on her fans.
