Police Sound Alarm on Semi-Complete Structures as Dens for Criminals

The Uganda Police Force has expressed growing concern over the increasing number of semi-complete structures in neighborhoods, citing them as a haven for criminal activity.

According to Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma, these unfinished buildings have become a menace, providing criminals with a place to hide and plan their next moves.

“Criminals use these structures as springboards to launch attacks on unsuspecting victims, especially when they are located near highways, roads, or paths,” Kituuma warned.

The police spokesperson appealed to urban city and local authorities to take immediate action to address the issue. He also urged local councils to escalate the matter to the urban authorities, citing the need for a collective effort to solve the problem.

Kituuma noted that many of these semi-complete structures have been abandoned for years, with some even having vegetation growth within them. He revealed that police canine units have led them to these structures on multiple occasions, highlighting the urgent need for action.

The police force is calling on the public to join hands in addressing the issue, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in preventing crime.
