Hearing of evidence in the Katanga murder case resumes this morning with a 6th proseuction witness taking a stand .
Ronald Mugabe Ruranga an advocate practising with Agaba and company advocates says he had known the late Henry Katanga has his client and personal friend for the last 17 years and that they shared offices in the same building at Cooperative Alliance on Nkurumah Road.
Mugabe has testfied that 2 days to his death, Katanga looked for him to write his last Statement of Will.
Court has however heard that Unfortunately this was impossible because on the day of the scheduled meeting -2nd / November 2023 , Mugabe waited for Katanga at his office until 12pm only to be informed that the he was dead .
Mugabe has told justice Muwata that in the 17 years of their relationship, he drafted many documents including agreements for his money lending business and land transactions.
Mugabe was also able to identify Katanga’s widow and 2 daughters in court .
The widow Molly Katanga and daugters ; Patricia Kankwazi and Martha Nkwanzi are charged in relation to the murder of the family’s Patriach Henry Katanga on 3rd / November 2023.
However Defence lawyers led by Mac Dusman Kabega have accused Mugabe of passing -off as a lawyer because they ( lawyers) have since acquired a document from the chief registrar of courts Patricia Amoko denying to have Mugabe Ronald Ruranga on the list of enrolled advocates .
The lawyers in their cross-examination maintain Mugabe is a fraudster practising law illegally .
To prove that Mugabe is an imposter, lawyer Kabega has directed to read out in court several Land transfer forms involving the Katanga family and his name doesn’t appear anywhere as Henry Katanga’s lawyer .
