Former Owino Market Chair Susan Kushaba Remanded Over TikTok Videos

The Buganda Road Court has remanded businesswoman Susan Kushaba over TikTok videos allegedly accusing Kampala ministers Minsa Kabanda and Joseph Kabuye Kyofatogabye of fraud, land grabbing and embezzlement.

Kushaba, 46, a resident of Namugongo in Kira Municipality, is a former St Balikudembe (Owino) Market chairperson and former Kampala Central parliamentary candidate.

She appeared in court to answer four charges of sending false distress signals under Section 82 of the Uganda Communications Act.

Prosecution alleges that between January and October 2026, Kushaba published videos on her TikTok account, @theInvestigatorUG, accusing Kabanda of fraud and land grabbing.

In another charge, she is accused of publishing claims that Kyofatogabye embezzled money belonging to boda-boda riders and taxi operators.

Kushaba sought bail, but prosecutors asked for more time to file affidavits opposing her application. The court remanded her to Luzira Prison until November 17, 2026.
