Comedian Sammy Re-Hospitalized, Pleads for Assistance

‘De Mighty Family’ comedian Sammy Okanya has been re-admitted at Rubaga hospital and is asking for public support to help him pay his medical bills.

In a statement, he said he was advised by doctors to stay in hospital because his health situation cannot allow him to live on his own.

“I went back to the hospital for a review, and also to have one of my catheter tubes removed. Unfortunately, what I hoped would be a step toward recovery turned into another painful chapter of my journey. After thorough inspection, the doctors discovered bleeding and dislocation of the tube. Because of this, I have been asked to be admitted once again for further monitoring and treatment,” the statement says.

He further said that the doctors explained that part of the complication came about because has not been on the strict bed rest that was recommended for me after the operation.

“The truth is, I could not afford to fully rest, as I was forced to move up and down trying to find ways to survive and provide for myself and my family. In my attempt to look for a living, I put my health at risk, but it was the only choice I had,” he said.

He asked Friends to support him financially because he has reached a point where he cannot manage to pay medical bills on his own.

“I am now at a point where I cannot carry this burden alone. The medical expenses, the hospital stay, and the daily needs during this difficult time are beyond what I can manage. I come before you with humility, appealing to anyone with a kind and generous heart to stand with me financially. Your support, no matter how small, will help me get the treatment I urgently need and give me the chance to finally recover without the fear of being turned away or neglected because of lack of funds,” he added.

The previous operations were funded by different people and celebrities that included Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine .
