Reigning miss Uganda crown holder Natasha Nyonyozi has arrived in India to take part in the 2025 edition of the Miss World Beauty Pageant
She was crowned Miss Uganda 2024/25 at a grand event held at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala on Saturday, August 3, 2024
On Thursday 8th, May,2025, she announced that she had arrived in India to take part in thecompetitions that will take place from 7th to 31st May, 2025 in Telangana India where over 100 contestants from around the globe will participate in celebrationS of culture, purpose, and beauty.
The competition will officially commence on 10th, May, 2025 with a formal inauguration at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium and culminate in a grand finale on May 31.
Beauty queens from across the globe have already begun arriving in Hyderabad. Miss Canada Emma Moserin reached the city, followed by Brazil’s Jensica Pedroso and South Africa’s Joilez Jansen van Rensburg on Sunday.
Officials welcomed contestants with traditional ceremonies at Shamshabad Airport. Miss Portugal Maria Amelia Antonio arrived on Monday, adding to the growing international presence. Key pageant officials, including Miss World Chairperson Julia Morley and competition organizer Jonathan Marksha, are also now in Hyderabad.
Indian chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to make elaborate arrangements for the successful conduct of the competition.
During a high-level review meeting recently, he stressed that the celebrations should showcase Telangana’s reputation worldwide, noting that young women from 116 countries are participating. He instructed officials to provide impeccable hospitality and implement stringent security measures throughout the event’s duration.
The contestants will tour various locations throughout Hyderabad and Telangana, bringing valuable visibility to the region’s attractions. A highlight will be the May 15 visit to Pochampally, a UNESCO-recognized “Best Tourism Village of the World” renowned for its intricate ikat weaving techniques.
The beauty queens will experience traditional tie-and-dye processes, interact with master weavers, and witness the making of the iconic Telia Rumal.
The Chief Minister has ordered comprehensive preparations for contestants’ visits to Hyderabad’s cultural landmarks including Charminar, Laad Bazaar, and Chowmahalla Palace.
He also directed officials to arrange visits to the DWCRA Bazaar run by IKP women, showcasing women’s empowerment initiatives, and to facilitate contestants’ attendance at the IPL semifinals at Uppal Stadium.
