King Saha Says Politicking Not to Blame for Ibanda Show Chaos

King Saha has refuted reports that claim the chaos during his recently concluded Ibanda district performance was fuelled by politically charged lyrics in his songs.

The concert took place on Saturday 22nd, March, 2025 when the singer was contracted to officiate the grand opening of Kanuzire Lounge & Pork Joint.

Videos circulating on social media show fans destroying chairs and equipment at the show, a situation believed to have been caused by political anti NRM statements he made during the concert.

It is alleged that Saha angered revelers when he started politicking by singing some of the revolutionary pro opposition songs that he has been promoting of recent and yet Ibanda is an NRM stronghold, the fans chased him off stage and destroyed the chairs and other equipment at the concert.

A video circulating on social media shows King Saha and his associates physically attacking revellers, using blows and chairs during the scuffle.

When contacted, Saha said that the chaos was brought about by a goon who snatched a phone from one of the people who was recording his performance, so when he intervened, chaos erupted at the venue where the show was taking place and that is the reason why revellers destroyed chairs at the event

“I wasn’t politicking at that concert. I was intervening to save a phone that was grabbed by a thief and it’s the reason why chaos broke out. How can I continue performing when someone is busy stealing phones from the people in front of me,” he said

He said the incident came when the show was coming to an end as he was the last performer at the event that attracted thousands of music lovers from Ibanda district in western Uganda.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, and it remains unclear if any arrests have been made.
