DPP Amends Chargesheet: New Allegations Against Prominent MPs and Trade Ministry Officials

The DPP has made amendments in the  the chargesheet to introduce new against MPs Micheal Mawanda , Wamakuyu Mudimi, Paul Akamba and Leornard Kavundira a commissioner in the Ministry of Trade.

The new charges are money laundering, recieving stolen property, stealing by an agent and Abuse of office.

The ammendments also see the permanet Secretary in the Trade ministry Geraldine Ssali Busulwa added on the charge sheet as accused number 6.

Ssali who is reportedly still at CID is facing charges of Abuse of office , Causing Financial Loss and Conspiracy to defraud.

All the above charges stem from the diversion of billions of money that was meant to compensate war victims through their cooperative unions.

The Jailed MPs had reported back before the Anti-corruption court for the DPP to make a response in  their bail application but the state says due to the new changes in charges, the bail application has been over taken by events.
