Crazed Subaru Driver Gets Off With 600k Fine

A Subaru driver who attempted to run over a traffic officer along Jinja Road has been sentenced to pay a court fine of 600000 shillings  else serves a 6 months imprisonment term at Luzira prison .

Isaac Mukwaya is a  pathologist at Mulago Hospital who has  explored and benefitted from the judiciary’s plea -bargain programme where offenders  voluntariry plead guilty to offences in exchange of a lighter punishment.

Since March last year, Mukwaya has been on trial on charges of reckless driving , inconsiderate use of a motor vehicle and failure to stop when signalled by a uniformed police officer .

Mukwaya was recorded on March 15th / 2023 in a viral social media  video while attempting to run over a traffic officer using Subaru Reg. UAZ- 515C at about 3pm.

Now upon reaching  a successful plea-bargain with the office of the DPP represented by Ivan Kyazze, a signed agreement has been presented before Buganda Road court Chief magistrate Ronald Kayizzi who sentenced Mukwaya to a shs 600,000 court fine .

While going through all these court processes, Mukwaya has been out on bail.
