Weasel accuses promoter Norbert of failing to pay for Africana concert

Singer Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel, has accused event promoter Norbert Twizire, also known as Nobat Events, of failing to pay him for his recent concert.
Weasel, the surviving member of Goodlyf, recently held a successful concert at Hotel Africana in memory of his late partner Mowzey Radio.
This venue is where the duo established themselves as Uganda’s and arguably East Africa’s biggest music act through numerous successful concerts, though this time, Weasel performed solo.
Despite earlier speculations about the potential for a flop, the concert was well-received, with Weasel receiving significant support from the industry and fans while he was still healing.
In a statement on his social media platforms, Weasel expressed frustration over the non-payment and alleged mistreatment by the promoter.
“We are disappointed to announce that the event organizer has yet to pay us. We have been left unpaid for our work,” he said.
Weasel also mentioned that Mr. Nobat aggravated the situation on Tuesday, adding to his distress over the loss of his friend.
“We deserve to be paid for our craft,” he emphasised, calling for fairness in the industry.
