Police in Nansana have launched a manhunt for unknown assailants who stabbed a mobile money agent to death in Nansana East, one zone, in Wakiso district.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, has identified the deceased as Rose Kyamazima, who was murdered at 9:40 pm on Monday.
According to the Police, preliminary findings has indicated that the deceased was stabbed to death by three unknown men who were riding a motorcycle, and stole her ATM card, two smart mobile phones, one small phone, and an unspecified amount of money.
It is alleged that Kyamazima was seen depositing money in a bank using an ATM card and then boarded a motorcycle to head home.
“As she was about to reach her residence, the trio followed them and surrounded her with violence, causing her rider to flee and leave her alone. Despite her attempts to run away, she was overpowered and stabbed, leaving her lifeless.” Onyango said.
Onyango said the police were notified and responded, but the trace yielded nothing. “We immediately responded, document the scene thoroughly. The body was taken to the city morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspects.”Onyango said.
