Ugandan songbird Lydia Jazmine has revealed that her grandparents from her paternal side hail from Rwanda and as a result, she is of Rwandan origin.
The singer made the revelation upon her arrival in Kigali, Rwanda where she went to promote her new music album called ‘One and Only’.
“My grandparents from my father’s side are from Rwanda and I’m here to find out where they are because I would like to connect with them,” she said.
Despite having Rwandan Roots, Jazmine is a Ugandan citizen by birth with a Ugandan Passport.
According to her schedule, she will be in Rwanda for a media tour from 17th to 20th, October,2025, to promote her 15-track which she released on 25th, July, 2025.
The album features artists from across Africa, including Nigeria’s Skales, Rwanda’s Bwiza, Tanzania’s Lava Lava, and a couple of Ugandan artists, including Blu*3 and Elijah Kitaka and Jose Chameleone
Some of the songs on the album are ‘Right Now’, ‘KintisaYour Ways – ft. Skales’, ‘Sunshine’, ‘True Love – ft. Bwiza’, ‘Police’, ‘Batya – ft. Elijah Kitaka’, ‘Stutter – ft. Blu*3’, ‘Kindekere’, ‘Sure – ft. Jose Chameleone’, ‘This Must Be Love’, ‘I Miss You – ft. Lava Lava’, ‘Owewala’ and ‘Contagious’.
The songs were produced and mastered by producers such as Artin, Nessim, Bass Boi, Anko Ronnie, Nexo Beats, Chemical Ali Nicer, and Gopa Beatz.
