Bobi Wine Storms Luzira Prison over Besigye’s Condition

National Unity Platform Party President Kyagulanyi Robert ssentamu and other opposition leaders arrived at Luzira Prison this morning demanding the release of all political prisoners including Dr Col. Kiiza besigye.

Kyagulanyi requested to meet Dr Kiiza Besigye but his request was turned down, he was informed that Besigye is not well.

However, Besigye sent a message to Kyagulanyi asking him not to demand only for his release but for the release of all political prisoners.

Kyagulanyi thus called on all Ugandans to join the fight and call for the release of all political prisoners in this country.

“Dr, Besigye is in a terrible state,  Haji Obeid Lutale told us that he collapsed this morning when they were trying to carry him out of bed….he is dying, you saw how Ssegirinya died.” Kyagulanyi told waiting journalists.

You heard Museveni’s son saying Besigye will either leave prison in a coffin or after kneeling down for Museveni, so this is upon all of us to save Besigye and all these other political prisoners, so take charge rise up all of you.” He rallied.

The former leader of opposition in parliament Winnie Kiiza who was among the politicians who attempted to gain access to Besigye noted that the four time presidential candidate should be in a hospitsl receiving adequate care.

“The right place where Dr. Besigye should be is in a hospital, they know that he is here not by any means of law, the court that put here…. was a court that was not supposed to be hearing cases of civilians.”

She echoed Kyagulanyi’s call for Ugandan’s to stand up to the mistreatment of Dr. Besigye,

“But so unfortunate there are those who are in power see it important to continue violating the law because they have the guns….what Dr. Besigye is going through any one of us can go through, so it is all of us to say no to this kind of impunity, to say no to military rule, to say no to mismanagement of affairs of Ugandans.” She asserted.
