Will Azawi Win the East African Artiste Award at the Headies, 2025?

Ugandan song writer and recording artiste Priscilla Zawedde aka Azawi will be competing for the award of the best east African artiste at the 2025 edition of the headies music awards

She will be competing with Bien (Kenya),Diamond Platnumz(Tanzania), Juma Jax (Tanzania) and Bruce Melodie (Rwanda) for the award

The nominees for the 2025 edition of the awards were announced recently on the social media platforms of the organizers of the event that is always held in Nigerian Capital, Lagos every year

In 2023,Tanzania Bongo flava artiste Diamond Platinumz was named the East African artiste of the year at Headies awards that took place on September,3, 2023,  in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

He beat Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, Zuchu (Tanzania), Hewan Dreamworld(Ethiopia) and Rayvanny (Tanzania)

The Headies are honors established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine  to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry.

The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists in Nigeria and other parts of Africa

The Headies is composed of 25 categories. Open voting decides the majority of the awards’ categories.

However the categories of best recording artiste of the year,best Rap Album,Best Vocal Performance both male and female,Lyricist on the Roll and Best Performer are not subject to public voting.
