Ugandan stand-up comedian Idringi Patrick aka Salvado will be getting a special African Recognition award in the humour awards that will take in Lagos, Nigeria before the end of the year.
According to the organizers of the awards, the award will be handedto him because of his lasting impact in the African comedy Industry, they state that Salvado has done a lot in promoting comedy in Uganda and on the African continent
“We are thrilled to announce that he will receive the special recognition award during this year’s edition of the award ceremony,” they said in a statement that backed up their decision to honor him.
He recently held the Africa laughs comedy show on 25th, October, 2025 at the Kingdom Mall in Kampala with support from corporate sponsors and partners as he marked 15 years in comedy.
This year’s theme for the award ceremony is create your chance and it embodies the spirit of innovation, resilience, and determination that defines the humour industry.
In addition to the new theme, the Academy has also introduced changes to its award categories that includes Humanitarian Comedian of the Year to recognize comedians who have made a positive impact in their communities.
According to Uche Dominic, the Humour Awards have become a benchmark for excellence in the humour industry in Nigeria and on the African continen.t
“This year’s theme and new categories reflect our commitment to celebrating creativity, innovation, and social responsibility.” He said in a statement.
The event promises to be an unforgettable night of laughter, entertainment, and recognition of outstanding achievements in the humour industry.
