Former NTV and Urban TV presenter Robin Kisti has denied reports of being a drug addict saying she takes marijuana for medical related reasons.
The media personality was granted bail on Monday 18th, May, 2025 after spending two weeks in Luzira prison for allegedly assaulting her neighbor.
The reports of her being a drug addict srfaced during her arrest when Police found her with a basin full of cannabis like substances placed in her bed room.
After her release from Prison, Kisit told a local television station that she is not a drug addict but uses marijuana because it prevents some sicknesses arising from her pregnancy, she is expecting to give birth soon.
“ The drug has been helping me to deal with nausea which is a sensation of feeling unwell, often accompanied by an urge to vomit, or simply a feeling of general sickness in the stomach. It can be caused by a variety of factors, from motion sickness and certain medications to infections and underlying medical conditions,” she revealed.
The ex-login presenter further claimed that in the Western countries where she was raised, marijuana is legal and there’s no reason why she is being condemned for using it.
When asked if she needs rehab or not, she said that she doesn’t need it because she is not a drug addict and she will never be, however, she said that she needs a job to enable her get money she has been unemployed for some time.
“ The only rehabilitation I need is a job because I need money to look after myself,” she added.
