Late Paul Kafeero Family Sue Gravity for Copyright Infringement

Luga Flow rapper Gereson Wabuyu aka Gravity Omutujju has been sued by the family of the late Paul Kafeero over copyright infringement

The family through their lawyers GM Kibirige and company advocates said Gravity re-did the song Walumbe Zaaya without asking for permission.

In a letter dated 10th-February-2025 that was signed by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, the family has asked Gravity to cease and desist from performing the song and also remove it from any platform to where it was uploaded

They are also seeking for compensation of ugx.shs 2,000,000,000 (2 billion) because the song has been making money for him since he recorded it in 2012.

In the letter that was served to Gravity, the law firm said Gravity’s redoing of the song violates the copyright law because he remixed the song without seeking permission from the family

He is co-sued with Big Talent Entertainment, the company owned by Eddy Kenzo which was managing him at that time as well as music producer Rinex who did the beat for the song, also sued is music video producer Kim XP

The legal firm is also asking for accountability of all the money that the artiste earned from the song.
