Media personality Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa has said he wanted to be a comedian because it was one of the careers he wanted to pursue when he was still a youth.
Speaking during a television interview on Sanyuka Television on Monday 17th, March, 2025, Zambaali said that he wanted to be a comedian because the late Kato Lubwama, whom he used to work with at Central Broadcasting Services (CBS) FM told that he had potential to make it in that field of entertainment.
“ I pursued comedy when I was still in secondary school because the late Kato Lubwama and other comedians believed in my talent. My deep voice also developed in S5. I went to Mariam Ndagire’s school of performing arts to learn drama to help me become a comedian but she advised me to focus on my studies first,” he said.
Mukasa said that his dream of studying was hit with several challenges that included financial difficulties because he was being sponsored by his untie for his secondary school education.
“ When I got to senior 4, my auntie told me that there was no money. I cried so hard but my grandmother saved me and promised to pay my school fees. I later got a first grade that enabled him to go for further education,” he said
On his decision to resign from his media job and join politics, he said this is the right time to do it because he has been planning to participate in elective politics since 2010.
“ I have always wanted to serve people through leadership and I have been planning for this since 2010 and I have been preparing to take on this initiative and I believe this is the right time to do it,” he revealed.
He joined Next Media in 2019 from the Central Broadcasting Services(CBS) and has been a news anchor until when he resigned recently to contest as member of parliament for Nansana Municipality in the2026 general elections.
