Fans Celebrate Bruno K’s Court Victory against Black Market Records

Singer Bruno K’s fans have congratulated him for winning a copyright case against Black Market Records.

The singer announced the news of his win against the label on Wednesday 2nd, April,2025 and said that he had emerged victorious in a case which has taken almost two years in court.

He took the company to court because they had claimed ownership for all the music he had done before signing a management contract with them.

As a result, the label’s managers continued to collect streaming royalties from his music, a situation that compelled him to stop creating music because he had no platform to promote it.

“I went to court because of this, because it brought my career to a stand still, because they had claimed ownership of all the music that I had on my You tube channel,” he said.

He further stated that this forced him to seek court redress where black market records management was told to pay him Ugx 130M compensation, plus damages caused to his music career.

“I thanked Eddy Kenzo, the president of the Uganda Musicians Federation for helping me win this case because he gave me lawyers to represent me in court for free. Please, artistes, trust Eddy Kenzo because he is doing a lot for artistes,” Bruno added.

The development has gone viral on social media and fans are congratulating him for the victory.

Black Market Records is expected to appeal the judgement within 14 days
