Erias Lukwago Mourns Daudi Mugema

Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has expressed grief upon the untimely death of singer Daudi Mugema. The singer passed away from a hotel in Gulu on Tuesday 24^th, June, 2025.

Lukwago said the singer has been battling a malignant ailment for a while and the music industry shall greatly miss him because he has been an activist who fought for Justice and good governance.

“ A budding Talent gone too soon. My heartfelt sympathies to the loved ones, the music fraternity and friends. May his soul rest eternal Peace,” he said in a statement.

Lukwago has been a friend and one of the people who have been contributing to the deceased’s medical bills. The two were pictured together several times especially when the late singer went to his office to seek financial assistance.

Mugema’s body arrived at the National Theatre on Tuesday 24^th, May, 2025 and artistes paid tribute to him along with his family

The National Theatre night vigil was attended by artistes like Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja and Hajji Haruna Mubiru.

According to his young sister Namugerwa Betty, the late singer will be buried in Kyotera Rakai district.
