Court Orders State to Present Exhibits in Don Nasser Sex Trafficking Case

The International Crimes Division (ICD) Judge, Dr. Andrew Bashaija, has directed the prosecution to produce all physical exhibits, including mobile phones, passports, and other materials, for inspection in court before the pretrial hearing in the case against city socialite Nasser Nduhukire, popularly known as Don Nasser.

The order was issued on Tuesday during a session at the High Court in Kampala, where Nasser appeared on charges of defilement and aggravated trafficking in children. Although the prosecution, led by Chief State Attorney Joseph Kyomuhendo, was ready to proceed, the pretrial was adjourned after Nasser introduced new lawyer Evans Ochieng, who asked for more time to study the case file. Judge Bashaija allowed the request and set September 17, 2025, as the next date for hearing.

Nasser was granted a Shs3 million cash bail in December 2024 after being committed to the High Court by the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court in November following completion of investigations. Prosecutors allege that between May 3 and May 27, 2024, he recruited, transported, and harboured a 16-year-old girl for sexual exploitation, and that he defiled her while using substances such as cocaine to lure her into sexual acts.

The alleged offences were committed at different locations, including Acacia Avenue, Tagore Living Apartments in Kampala, and Kito Zone in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. In July this year, the ICD dismissed an application in which Nasser sought to nullify his prosecution, claiming he was abducted and tortured by security agents before being illegally transferred from Kenya to Uganda.

The court ruled that he had failed to provide proof of his claims, noting that immigration records showed his last legal entry into Uganda was in October 2023 via Entebbe Airport.
