Kampala’s Cricket Oval Lugogo is gearing up for the 7th Edition of Oktoberfest on October 28th, and it’s coming back with a “Drunch” twist.
After a hiatus, the annual Oktoberfest is returning, and it’s promising to be bigger and better than ever before, thanks to a tantalizing new addition – the Drunch edition. But what exactly is Drunch? Dennis Asiimwe, the festival organizer, enlightened us at the launch event held at The Villa in Bukoto. “Drunch simply means a blend of lunch and drinks,” he explained, and it’s all about music and entertainment.
This year’s Oktoberfest is set to be a musical extravaganza with an impressive lineup of artists. The legendary Jose Chameleone, the sensational Cindy Sanyu, and the lively Abeeka band will take the stage. But that’s not all; the festival will also showcase fresh talent with performances by Kohen Jaycee, Izabel Ug, Ras B Ssali, Dolv Gvng, and Chevank Badcitizen.
The Oktoberfest experience wouldn’t be possible without the support of sponsors like Nile Special, Brussels Airlines, Stanbic Bank, Galaxy FM, Uvotam, Rx Radio, Ranchers Finest, Radio City, NBS TV, Pepsi, The Villa, The Maze, The Germany Cultural Society, and Sew Bantu. They’ve come together to create an event that’s truly unforgettable.
Speaking of unforgettable, Ranchers Finest, Uganda’s premier meat processing company, left a lasting impression at the festival’s launch event. Alexandra Nagginda, the Brand Manager of Ranchers Finest, highlighted their commitment to quality and excellence when it comes to meat. “We look forward to revellers from across the region discovering our world-class portfolio of products that are affordable and encourage Ugandans to support our world-class brands and grow the economy through the BUBU initiative,” she emphasized.
If you’re not just about the music and beer but also some friendly competition, Oktoberfest has you covered. The event will feature exciting beer contests, live music, and a dress competition for the best Oktoberfest outfit. And here’s the kicker – the winner of the dress competition stands a chance to win a ticket to Europe, courtesy of Brussels Airlines.
This year, Oktoberfest at the Cricket Oval Lugogo offers more space than ever before, ensuring there’s room for everyone to join in the fun. So, mark your calendars, invite your friends, and prepare for an Oktoberfest like no other on October 28th. With early bird tickets available for Shs 30,000, and Stanbic’s Flexi Pay option, this promises to be an unforgettable day filled with great beers, fantastic music, and fun activities. Don’t miss out on the Drunch edition that’s sure to be the highlight of the year.
