Bryan White Further Remanded to February 2026
The Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court has adjourned the human sacrifice case involving jailed city socialite Bryan Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White, to February 10, 2026, as police investigations into the matter continue.
Kirumira was not produced in court on Thursday due to the absence of magistrates and court registrars across the country, who are attending a two-day annual judicial conference held on December 18 and 19. His co-accused, however, were produced and later remanded back to Luzira Prison.
The adjournment date was communicated by the court clerk to the Makindye Chief Magistrate, Sarah Basemera, who informed all parties that court business could not proceed in the absence of both magistrates and registrars.
Bryan White was first charged and remanded on November 19, 2025, following his arrest in connection with the death of 25-year-old Carol Nalubwama. He faces multiple charges, including human sacrifice, manslaughter, conspiracy to commit a felony, rash and negligent acts, unlawful possession of marijuana, and giving false information to police. The offences are classified as capital in nature and can only be substantively tried by the High Court.
According to the prosecution, Nalubwama sustained fatal burn injuries on October 22, 2025, at Kirumira’s residence in Kyamula Zone, Munyonyo, Makindye Division. Prosecutors allege that the injuries were inflicted during a ritual ceremony allegedly carried out by Kirumira and his co-accused.
The co-accused include Kirumira’s wife, Daisy Nalunga, Daphine Abaho, and Naava Nakato, who are jointly charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Another suspect in the case is Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, an administrator at Mukyala Mabirizi Nursing Home in Kigagga Zone along Salama Road. Nambalirwa, a resident of Seguku in Wakiso District, is facing separate charges of manslaughter and rash and negligent conduct. Prosecution alleges that between October 22 and 27, 2025, she failed to refer Nalubwama to a main hospital despite her critical condition, a decision that allegedly contributed to her death.
During earlier court appearances, Bryan White, who is the prime suspect, was presented under heavy police security, at times on a stretcher with visible bandages, prompting the court to conduct proceedings behind closed doors due to security and health concerns.
Prosecution, led by Jemimah Acingo, informed the court that investigations are still ongoing, including the review of medical reports, witness statements, and other evidence.
In Today’s session, Daisy Nalunga, Abaho, Nakato, and Nambalirwa, who were produced in court, were further remanded back to Luzira Prison until February 10, 2026, when the matter will return to court for mention as investigations continue.
