The African Airline Association (AFRAA) has asked the African Member states to invest in more in the aviation sector for infrastructure development .
The international Air transport Association (IATA) Regional Vice President Africa and the Middle East Kim Al Awadhi says African governments have ignored to fully invest in the aviation infrastructure development dispite the fact that they are collecting alot of taxes from the sector .
He says the failure to develop the aviation sector is bound to continue undermining the economic development of the continent .
He made the remarks while giving a keynote address at the ongoing 55th Africa Airlines Association annual General Assembly at speke resort munyonyo.
He says currently in Africa 1.4billion people have a market share of 2% of the global Air transport.
He added that its easy to transport in Europe than in Africa and this must be addressed .
