The Catholic Church is soliciting for more than 1 billion shillings to Facilitate preparations for the June 2022 Uganda Martyrs Day.
Addressing a press conference at Nsambya Catholic Secretariat, the Bishop of Fort Portal Catholic diocese, Robert Muhiirwa says this year, they are in need of at least Shillings 1billion to help them organise the event.
Last month, Fort Portal Catholic Diocese was chosen to animate this year’s celebrations.
Muhirwa says the church is counting on catholic faith-based institutions and well-wishers to raise funds.
