Four time presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye, has called for an end to the dusk to dawn curfew as the year comes to a close.
Besigye who is also the national chairperson of the People’s Front for Transition-PFT, a loose opposition grouping, said there is no evidence that a curfew can in any way limit the spread of Covid-19.
President Museveni’s has promised to lift the partial lockdown on several sectors and facilitate a full opening of the economy next year.
However Besigye says the government should have plans of assisting people and institutions that have been adversely affected by the pandemic. He said the crises in the health, education and economic sectors among others are too staggering to be ignored.
