Khalifah AgaNaga Blames NUP for Poor Turnout at Kabako’s Concert

Written by on November 14, 2024

Singer Sadat Mukiibi, popularly known as Khalifah AgaNaga, has criticised the National Unity Platform (NUP) party for the poor turn out at a concert by fellow artist Yusuf Senabulya, known as Roden Y Kabako.

AgaNaga attributed the flop to what he described as ineffective support from NUP, despite the political party’s endorsement of Kabako’s show.

“So, those fans of the National Unity Platform who keep on abusing people, it is a sham,” AgaNaga said

He pointed to the poor turnout as evidence of NUP’s diminishing influence. He suggested that by focusing on politics only, NUP risks alienating potential fans and even voters.

“You may think you want the artist to fall, but you are failing your customers and potential voters,” AgaNaga added, warning that dismissing artists outside of NUP’s sphere could harm the party’s reputation.

He suggested that the politicisation of Uganda’s music scene may be creating divisions within fan bases.

He also raised questions about the role of political endorsements in the success or failure of entertainment events and highlighted the potential risks of blending political support with the music industry.
