Zenome Technologies Africa Ltd, a global leader in lighting products manufacturing, has commissioned its cutting-edge LED lights manufacturing facility in Ntinda, Kampala, Uganda.
This marks the beginning of a new era in the production of “Made in Uganda” lighting products and accessories, tailored to meet the growing demands of the Ugandan and African markets.
Presiding over the commissioning,the state minister for Energy Okasai Opolot asked prospecting investors to invest in the manufacturing of affordable energy-saving materials to promote energy efficiency in the country.
He says this will help to reduce the cost of these materials and in the process, communities will get access to electricity with ease.
He also asked the manufacturers to ensure that they manufacture standard bulbs that measure to international standards.
The managing director for the Zenome Technologies company Twinamatsiko Jonan says the factory will manufacture wide range of LED lighting products and this will save the country part of the cost incurred in the importation of electrical products.
VASANTHA RAMBABU one of the company director says zenome Technologies Africa Ltd’s goal is to champion local manufacturing of lighting products with edge-cutting technologies, catering to both the local and export markets.
