The Uganda Cancer Institute is about to start conducting bone marrow transplant treatment for children

The Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is about to start conducting bone marrow transplant treatment for children who present with blood cancers.

The Executive Director, Dr. Jackson Orem made the revelation during a pre-conference meeting ahead of an upcoming International Society of Paediatric Oncology Conference.

The conference will attract experts from fifty African countries in Uganda to discuss advances in treatment for childhood cancers.

Dr. Orem said the bone marrow treatment will start early next year.
