The Anti-Corruption Court Issues Arrest Warrant for John Wetaga, Farm Manager of Former State Minister Agnes Nandut

The Anti -Corruption Court has issued an arrest warrant against the farm manager of former State Minister for Karamoja Affairs Agnes Nandutu ; John Wetaga.

This was after he defied several criminal summons requiring him to come and testify against his boss in a case of stealing iron sheets that were meant for vulnerable Karamoja communities .

The order for police to arrest Wetaga on sight has been issued by Justice Jane Okuo Kajuga when the matter came up for further hearing.
State Attorney David Bisamunyu requested for a warrant of arrest after Watenga who was reportedly present at Nandutu’s farm in Mukono District from where the alleged iron sheets were recovered.

The Court has been looking for Watenga since May 2024 through several summoms until today when court decided to issue a warrant of arrest against him.

Relatedly, Justice Kajuga has also issued criminal summons against Nandutu who is facing charges of dealing with suspect property after she and her lawyers also skipped court .

Nandutu and her farm manager are required to appear in court on November 6th 2024 for further hearing of the case in which nine witnesses have testified so far .

 

Prosecution states that during the month of June 2022 at the Office of the Prime Minister’s stores in Namanve and Kkola Cell Bulwanyi Parish Mukono district, Nandutu took possession of 2,000 pre-painted iron sheets guage 28 belonging to the government of Uganda.
