DFCU Limited Commemorates Six Decades of Transformative Service in Uganda

Kampala, Uganda 20th May: Celebrating six decades of impactful service, dfcu Limited reaffirms its commitment to ‘Transforming Lives and Businesses in Uganda’. Established in 1964 as a development finance institution, dfcu has been a cornerstone in Uganda’s socioeconomic evolution since its inception.

With a network of 54 branches and over 20,000 agent banking outlets, dfcu Bank has earned its reputation as a reliable ally for both individuals and businesses.

dfcu Bank remains deeply invested in community empowerment, helping individuals and enterprises attain their financial aspirations through an extensive distribution network and initiatives such as Women in Business, Rising Woman, and the SME Business Accelerator for Small and Medium Enterprises.

In the agricultural sector, dfcu Bank has been instrumental through the Agribusiness Development Centre (ADC), enhancing the national agriculture value chain and fostering the financial viability of farmer-based organizations (FBOs), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs). ADC’s initiatives have positively impacted over 28,000 individuals and entities, bolstering the growth and sustainability of agribusiness in Uganda.

urthermore, dfcu Bank has consistently advocated for women-led initiatives, offering a suite of products, services, and partnerships designed to enhance the financial well-being of women throughout Uganda. Since the launch of its groundbreaking Women in Business Program in 2007, the bank has supported over 80,000 women-owned businesses, continually innovating to meet the unique needs of Ugandan women entrepreneurs.
