The 5 day Easter Stretch has been characterized as largely peaceful by Uganda Police force. The police registered a total of over 17 deaths that fell under the categories of murder across the districts Of Bududa, Busia, Kyotera, Adjumani, Kaboong, Kotido anad Kampala.

Most of these were attributed to domestic violence. There were 2 deaths registered in Atiak, Omoro District under suspected food poisoning, and 5 deaths were attributed to fatal accidents over the weekend.

There were also 3 cases of aggrevated robbery that left victims injured and left bare of their money and moblie phones

There was also a case of kidnap over the Easter Stretch where a 9yr old Nabalanda Fatima was picked up by a woman only ildentified as Masitula from Buyende , who then proceeded to Kamuli and made demands of 4m shs . Police says she was later arrested and the child returned to her parents.

Police Deputy Spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango says the stretch was largely peaceful because they manned black spots especially in Kampala like Clock Tower, Kisenyi and Katwe-Kinyoro that are always riddled with criminal activity

. Police over the break over the break also arrested 241 suspects in the Kampala Metropolitan Area .

These are in various holding cells around the Kampala awaiting screening and arraignment in court
