By Vincent Kasozi
The deadline handed to the government by Makerere University Academic Staff MUASA to pay their June salaries expires today.
Makerere University Academic Staff have vowed to take action if their salaries for the month of June are not paid by the end of business today.
MUASA chairman Dr Muhammad Kiggundu says Makerere University management has not heeded their call for payment of their due salaries.
The University recently said it was broke, urging government to step in and arrest the situation.
According to Dr Kiggundu, the situation is getting out of hand considering that Makerere staff have not received money for transport and food for over five months.
A committee investigating the tuition payment policy at Makerere University recently recommended that government takes over the entire wage bill of the troubled university.
