The group led by workers member of parliament Sam Lyomoki  and the sacked chairman of Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) said that the suspension of Makerere university staff by the vice chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe is unconstitutional and would affect students greatly.

The general secretary of the university professional Academic staff Union Dr.Isaac Wanzige Magoola said that parliament should probe  into the running of the affairs in public universities ,indicating that what is going on  in the public universities is worse than what is parliament currently  investigating  in Bank of Uganda .

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga requested for Dr.Rwendeire  Visitation Committee report findings  before ordering the investigations into the problems of Makerere university.
