NRM MPs In Support of Lining Up for Polls
A number of National Resistance Movement MPs are in support of a resolution by the party's top most organ that approved lining up as a mode of holding internal elections in the party.
The Central Executive Committee of the ruling NRM party over the weekend made the resolution at the opening of a 5-day retreat at Chobe Safari Lodge in Nwoya district.
The decision will now be introduced to members and other NRM organs for the amendment of the Party Constitution before it's enforced.
The woman MP for Otuke District, Akello Sylvia and her Kumi district counterpart Monica Amoding have welcomed the move.
Akello says since the same method was introduced for LC1 elections it has to apply for the party internal elections.
Amoding on her part says that the move will solve the problems that arise from the rigging and logistical issues that continue to plague the party.
The Kyaka south MP Jackson Kafuuzi who also supports the move says it will reduce on the number of NRM contestants who choose to contest as independents after losing in the party primaries, since they will know they lost fairly.
