Police has refuted media reports that 4,000 guns were found missing from the security agency’s classified stores.

One of the local dailies this week ran a story claiming that the Chieftaincy of Military intelligence and Internal Security Organisation were investigating police classified stores, where they said number of guns had gone missing.

However, in a statement Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima dismissed the story as a falsehood, saying he was neither aware of the missing guns or any ongoing investigation over the same.

Kayima however said the Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola had sanctioned a gun audit, but its findings are yet to be revealed or submitted to the relevant entities.
