KAYIHURA REPORTS TO GENERAL COURT MARTIAL AS PER BAIL TERMS
Former Police Chief General Kale Kayihura has today reported back before the General Court Martial in fulfillment of his bail terms.
General Kayihura was ordered to report before the Court Martial Registry every first Monday of the month, since he was granted bail in August last year, after spending several months in Military detention at Makindye.
Kayihura arrived at the court martial today at about 10:00am aboard a Ministry of Defence vehicle with an escort vehicle in tow.
General Court Martial Chairman Lt. General Andrew Gutti has extended his bail to 4th February 2019 as the case is not yet cause listed for trial because investigations are still on-going.
General Kayihura is charged with offenses of failure to protect war materials and is alleged to have allowed the issuance of guns to unauthorized people like the jailed leader of Boda Boda 2010 Abdullah Kitatta and the kidnap and repatriation of Rwandese Refugees.
Kayihura denies the charges.
