COURT THREATENS TO DISMISS CASE AGAINST TWO MUSICIANS WHO ALLEGEDLY DISTURBED THE PEACE OF PRESIDENT MUSEVENI

Buganda Road Court has threatened to dismiss a case of offensive communication against two local Musicians; David Mugema and Jonathan Muwanguzi who allegedly sang and produced a song that disturbed the peace of president Yoweri Museveni.

Mugema and Muwanguzi were in December last year charged with 2 counts including ; offensive communication and abetting of offensive communication for which they were remanded to Luzira prison for 2 weeks.

However today grade one magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu did not start with the duo's trial as proseuctution summoned no single witness on grounds that the police file was not brought to court by the Investigating officer .

Magistrate Kamasanyu has then given prosecution one more last chance until the 13th/April/ 2018 to trace for the police file and summon witness if it's interested in prosecuting the accused .

Prosecution led by Abdul-Salaam Waiswa states that the two artists between the years 2015 and 2017 at Salama road Makindye division in Kampala district unlawfully and repeatedly compossed, recorded, produced and electronically communicated through social media a song entitled " Mzee Wumula" were they attacked the person and age of the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni .
