Court of Appeal to hold a criminal session of over 60 appeals

The court of Appeal is to hold a criminal session of over 60 appeals in which mainly capital offenders are challenging their respective  convictions and prison terms .
The session is to run for  one month starting on the 25 th/February to the 22nd /March 2019.

Notably among the convicts whose appeals are cause-listed for hearing are ; Sandra Nakungu and Jyden Ashiraf who were each sentenced to 20 years in prison after Highcourt judge Wilson Masalu Musene found them guilty of  forming a common intention to murder famous business man Eria Ssebunya Bugembe aka Kasiwukira in october 2014.

Nakungu and Jayden are challenging their conviction basing on grounds that the would be key suspect in the said murder Sarah Nabikolo-also widow to late Kasiwukira was exenorated of any wrong doing by court .

Another suspect is Jacquline Uwera Nsenga who is also  appealing against a 20 year jail term that Justice Duncan Gaswaga handed down to her  for killing her husband Juvenal Nsenga in a disguised motor accident .

The 60 suspects will  appear before justices ; Elizabeth Musoke , Hellen Obura and Ezekiel Muhanguzi for their respective appeal hearings.
